The Mehrab is defined by two rectangular hollows that lie on both sides of the Mehrab , with a Quranic verse from Surah Ibrahim engraved , (رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي ), “My Lord! Make me to establish proper worship, and some of my posterity “, while above the right hollow the Quranic verse from Surah Tahrim (رَبِّ ابْنِ لِي عِنْدَكَ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ) "My Lord! Build for me a home with thee in the Garden"

The Carpet

The carpet covers an area of 12,500 m2, as the most significant and distinctive element in the mosque. It was made in Belgium and its creation involved a team of 15 technicians, who used four sewing machines. They worked around the clock for 90 days in order to finish it, while the carpet assembly on the floor utilized 15 workers around the clock for 30 days.

The main prayer hall

The main prayer hall (Men’s prayer hall) is the largest in the mosque and accommodates about 11,840 Worshippers.

As this hall is crowded with Worshippers during large assemblies, religious events and prayers such as Eid and Taraweeh and Ramadan prayers, as well as the Friday prayers. The ladie's prayer hall accommodates 2500 Worshippers.

Domes

There are 65 domes , where the mosque's main Men’s prayer hall is topped by a set of domes that are based on four main pillars. The domes architect design involves one large central dome (the mother dome) that sits over the four halves of the large dome from all four sides, with each dome sitting over three halve - domes.

The main dome is 58 m in height from the floor of the hall to the top of the dome, with an outer diameter of 45 m and an inner diameter of 38 m while each of the four half domes are 32 m in dimeter, which are further complimented by a set of small domes that cover the mosques surface.

Minarets

The word ‘minaret’ derives from the Arabic ‘Manara’, meaning ‘lighthouse’ or place of ‘enlightenment; they abruptly rises in a slender and agile manner, cladded in white marble, in harmony with the design elements and the vastness of the mosque. The four arcades of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque – Al Fujairah with all their decorations and esthetics add to the beauty of the mosque, mainly, because they ease the movement around the unroofed open portion of the Sahan. In addition, the arcades of the mosque played a significant role across the Islamic history in the teaching religious disciplines, as preachers delivered lessons to the students.

Lamps and lanterns were placed across the arcades, some fitted while others dangled from the domes. As for the extravagant Othman style chandeliers, they were further made of tinted glass and copper.
